Adam and Chloe are a couple embarking on a great adventure! With their Unimog U1300L packed and ready to go, they are leaving London and making their way across the world to China!

With London as their starting point they will drive across Europe and Scandinavia to Russia then east through Siberia to Mongolia. From there they will travel south through China, around South East Asia (Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore) then ship their vehicle to India. After driving across India they will cross into Pakistan and drive north along the Korakoram highway towards China. Their route then takes them Southwest along the Silk Road (taking in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan andTurkmenistan on the way) to Iran then back to Europe via Turkey.

Rogers Rescue bought this unimog U1250 from us back in November 2005 and they have done a marvellous job of doing it up.

Rogers Rescue specialises in roadside breakdown, repair and recovery operations for motorcycles, light and heavy vehicles. The company operates through a 24 hour control centre, 365 days a year.

They have workshop repair facilities based on two operational sites. These have extended opening hours with access to an extensive parts store. They also have a fleet of cars for hire, a fast fit facility for tyres/batteries/exhausts and a dedicated roadside tyre replacement service vehicle.

SAMOG is a company based in South Africa that specialise in 416 Unimogs. Since 2000 they have refurbished over 100 of these Unimogs for all types of uses. Some are campers, some are game drive vehicles that have a seating capacity of up to 22 (!) and some are used for towing.

The Mog has proved to be invaluable moving equipment and materials to and from site but it is also used for fitting ecological fencing ( hence the black panels and fitting frame, minus the leg, on the 3 point linkage in the photo) we also have a cage body with a 3 way tip for it and run a Farmi 290 chipper off the rear PTO, Kinghitter or Wrag post drivers are also used on it for fencing work.

The Mog has taken a bit of getting use to having previously been more accustomed to conventional tractors but with the help of Frank and his team at Atkinson Vos in the background for advice, parts and service the learning curve has been made much more manageable.
